Job Brief:

We are looking for a professional Construction Operations Manager to coordinate and oversee our heavy civil construction operations.

The Operations Manager role is mainly to implement the processes and practices set by the principals of the company.

The specific duties of a Construction Operations Manager include formulating strategy, improving performance, procuring materials and resources along with securing compliance. You should be ready to mentor your team members and find ways to increase profits for the company while maintaining quality of work and customer service. Ultimately, we'll trust you to help us remain compliant, efficient and profitable during the course of business.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all operations are carried on in an appropriate, cost-effective way
  • Oversee project procurement
  • An ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules and step-by-step action plans
  • Improve operational management systems, processes and best practices
  • Help the organization's processes remain legally compliant
  • Formulate strategic and operational objectives
  • Examine financial data and use it to improve profitability
  • Manage budgets and forecasts
  • Perform quality controls and monitor construction productivity
  • Recruit, train and supervise staff
  • Find ways to increase quality of customer relations and services

Requirements:

  • Proven work experience as a Construction Operations Manager. (Heavy Civil Underground Utilities experience is a plus)
  • Knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management
  • Experience estimating, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project, HCSS HeavyBid, MS Office, Computer Ease
  • Familiarity with business and financial principles
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Leadership ability
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Degree in Business, Operations Management or related field is a plus
  • PMP / PRINCE2 certification is a plus
